Traditionally Fox News is not known for being liberal on any topics. Legalizing marijuana is definitely a very liberal opinion so the fact that they made an hour debate is a refreshing surprise. The debate over medical marijuana started in earnest 14 years ago, when Californians passed Proposition 215. That allowed people with a doctor's recommendation to possess and grow marijuana for personal medical use.
Today, medical marijuana is legal in 14 states and voters in Arizona and South Dakota will decide on the issue in November.
California voters face another historic vote this fall on whether to legalize pot for everybody over the age of 21.

Police officers in a small Arizona border city are on heightened alert following a tip that a Mexican drug cartel will put them in its crosshairs if they conduct off-duty busts.

The threat stems from a marijuana seizure made this month by two off-duty police officers riding on horseback in an unincorporated area east of Nogales, a city of roughly 20,000, Police Chief Jeffrey Kirkham told FoxNews.com.

The Jamaican police have captured the once powerful gang leader, Christopher "Dudus" Coke, as he was on his way to surrender to the US embassy in Kingston weeks after leading a bloody urban battle to avoid deportation for trial to New York.

Coke appears to have wanted to hand himself in to the Americans out of concern for his safety after his father died in a mysterious prison cell fire that some Jamaicans believe was intended to prevent him talking in court about the close links between the island's criminal gangs and leading politicians.
