Nun ist es in London zu einem weiteren Eklat gekommen. Die leitende Mitarbeiterin des Beratungsteams der Regierung, Polly Taylor, trat gestern als sechste Wissenschaftlerin aus Protest wegen des Ignorierens wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse in der britischen Drogenpolitik aus Protest zurück. Die Regierung konterkarriere immer wieder alle Bemühungen, die Drogenpolitik auf eine wissenschaftliche Basis zu führen und untergrabe jegliche Möglichkeit einer vertrauensvolle Zusammenarbeit, so die Essenz ihrer Kritik.

A University of Arizona professor has been given a $1.7 million grant to study the long-term effects of the drug Ecstasy, also known as the "hug drug."

The National Institute on Drug Abuse awarded the grant to Terrence Monks, head of the university's Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
