The New Mexico Department of Health on Friday announced changes to its medical marijuana regulations, one of which will add to the supply of legally grown marijuana by increasing the number of plants licensed producers can grow from 95 to 150.

Another change will create a permanent revenue stream to allow the program to pay for itself by increasing producer fees.

Two officers in an unmarked car noticed a white 2010 Dodge Caravan run a red light and make a quick turn without signaling about 4 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Merrick Boulevard and Farmers Boulevard. The officers, members of the anticrime unit in the 113th Precinct, followed the vehicle and tried to get the driver to pull over. Instead, the driver sped off, leading the officers on a five-block chase, according to the police.

Almost $20 million worth of the drug ecstasy has been uncovered inside a van in northern NSW.

The van was stopped on the Kamilaroi Highway at Quirindi for a random breath test about 2pm (AEDT) last Wednesday.

A search of the van allegedly uncovered seven cardboard boxes of chemical glassware used to make drugs.

Two Sydney men, both aged 27, were charged with possessing drug manufacturing apparatus. They appeared in court later that day and were granted conditional bail.

Meanwhile, the van was forensically examined by police attached to the Chemical Operations Unit.

They allegedly located 19.5kg of MDMA, otherwise known as ecstasy, hidden in the van and a search was immediately launched for the two men.
