New Trend: Gummy LSD

The Cranbrook RCMP want to alert the public to a new trend in drug trafficking that appeared here this spring. While executing a Search Warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, police located a bag of candy, which had gummie bears in it. The bag and it’s location inside the residence made the police suspicious, and a sample was sent to the Drug Lab for analysis. The gummie bear has been confirmed to be laced with Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, commonly known as LSD.

On September 7, a major new front opened up in the campaign for Proposition 19, the ballot measure to tax and regulate marijuana in California. On that day, the California Beer and Beverage Distributors made a $10,000 contribution to a committee opposing Proposition 19.

Tip takes 1,000 pounds of pot off the street

Two Cherokee County residents were behind bars Tuesday, and approximately 1,000 pounds of marijuana was off the streets due to Tahlequah police receiving an anonymous tip.

Border agents seize $3.1M in pot

Border agents say they seized 4,000 pounds of marijuana worth more than $3.1 million in two separate incidents in southern Arizona.
Border Patrol spokesman Eric Cantu said Wednesday that agents from Ajo’s all-terrain vehicle unit were tracking footprints of suspected illegal immigrants on Monday when they found more than 2,200 pounds of abandoned pot that were bundled and fashioned into backpacks to carry easily. In the second incident, the ATV unit found an abandoned vehicle while patrolling west of Lukeville. It had numerous bundles of pot weighing about 1,750 pounds.

Marijuana Ballot Measure in California Wins Support of Union, Officials Say

A ballot measure to make California the first state to legalize the sale and use of marijuana has won the support of one of the state’s most powerful union, officials said Monday, offering the proposition a shot of mainstream legitimacy as well as a potential financial and organizational lift.

Ex-Officers, Judges Support CA Legalization of Pot

A group of former law enforcement officials on Monday endorsed a November ballot measure that would legalize marijuana in California, saying it would unclog court dockets and allow police to focus on more serious crime.
