Eine äußerst professionell betriebene Marihuanaplantage hat die Polizei in Wien-Neubau ausgehoben: Das verhaftete Ehepaar soll eine Wohnung am Urban-Loritz-Platz als Anbaufläche genutzt haben. Mindestens zwei Jahre lang bauten die 44-Jährige und ihr 55-jähriger Partner auf der gesamten Wohnfläche Hanfpflanzen an, teilte die Polizei in einer Aussendung mit.

Für den Betrieb der Anlage mit Beleuchtungs- und Bewässerungsgeräten zapften die beiden Strom am Gang ab und überbrückten dabei den Stromzähler. Von außen gab es keine Hinweise wie Gerüche auf die Riesenplantage.

A family is accused of running a $1 million "designer marijuana" operation from their home in an unincorporated area near Tinley Park.

John Gecan, 52, his wife Darlene, 52, their son Christopher, 27, and another relative, James Osmolski, 22, were charged after police busted the pot growing operation in the 7,000-square-foot home in the 5300 block of West 175th Street, according to Cook County Sheriff's officials.

Seven people have been arrested after nearly 11 tons of marijuana was found packed into six railroad cars from Mexico in what could be the largest pot seizure in the Chicago area.

........ The warehouse raid came after Customs agents in Eagle Pass, Texas came across a Union Pacific train bound for Chicago Heights carrying about 21,800 pounds of suspected marijuana, the office said.

The agents "observed a number of large bundled packages, referred to as 'super sacks,' in six cars on the train, the office said.

The agents opened one of the sacks and saw "13 cubic bundles, which were encrusted in a thick layer of fine red masonry pigment dust." Tests showed the packages all contained marijuana, the U.S. attorney's office said.

Nearly $12.5 million worth of marijuana was seized by U.S. Border Patrol agents over a six-day span that began last Friday and ended Wednesday, according to a news release sent by the agency.

Agents confiscated nearly eight tons of marijuana in multiple, unrelated incidents throughout the Rio Grande Valley, the release said.

So, on a recent day, the fate of municipal police Officers Pedro Ramos, Mayra Ibarra and Osvaldo Rodriguez as they sat in a parked police pickup caused little stir in these parts, and wasn't worthy of a front-page article in either major newspaper.

The officers were patrolling in the San Felipe del Real district of this city of 1.3 million people. They pulled up to an elementary school, and a fourth officer hopped out to get a signature on a log to show that the cops had made their rounds.

As many as six Guardia Civil have been arrested as part of an internal investigation

The Málaga Anti-Drug Chief of the Guardia Civil has been arrested in an operation against drug trafficking. It comes as part of an operation which started on Wednesday and saw earlier reports of another Civil Guard and a former officer arrested.

The new arrest was also carried out on Wednesday by agents of the Internal Affairs of the Guardia Civil. It’s understood the arrested man, who has not been named in reports, was head of the EDOA Anti-drug and Organised Crime Team, which leads several different groups specialising in the persecution and fight against drug trafficking in the province.

A female police employee facing charges of stealing confiscated drugs from a police station has appeared in court.

Tracy O’Connor, 52, a property store officer, was accused of stealing small amounts of heroin, cocaine and cannabis from Kingston police station over a period of 10 months.
