Three men have been arrested following the seizure of £1m worth of drugs in Northern Ireland.

The men, aged 51, 27 and 25 were arrested after two cars and a lorry were stopped in the Belfast area.

Drugs were recovered at the scene and after follow up searches in the Greater Belfast area, County Antrim and County Armagh.

60 kilos of cannabis, 50,000 e-tablets, cocaine and amphetamines were found. A large amount of cash was also seized.

Sonoma County Sheriff’s detectives directed simultaneous raids Thursday on eight sites throughout the county that are suspected of being part of an indoor pot-growing network.

The sweep netted 10 arrests, including one of the sheriff’s own employees — Jose Ruben Diaz, 34, a community services officer for the sheriff’s law enforcement division.

Diaz works in the town of Sonoma doing parking enforcement and animal control duties, said Capt. Matt McCaffrey, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

An RCMP drug task force in B.C. has seized 54,000 marijuana plants and arrested 24 people so far, Mounties say.

The pilot group, Cariboo Region Integrated Marijuana Enforcement (CRIME), began work in September due to a spike in the number of grow op complaints in the northern part of the province including Prince George, Williams Lake, Quesnel and 100 Mile House.
