A desperate couple eager to make quick money through drug trafficking has landed in the net of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The couple and their six-year-old twins were nabbed by officials of the NDLEA at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while boarding an Arik Air flight to London on Sunday, March 28.

According to the spokesman of the NDLEA, Mitchell Ofoyeju, the family head, Jimoh Oladega Bashir (46), his wife, Jimoh Mulikat Adebukola and their six-year-old twins were carrying 4.050 kg of white powdery substance that tested positive to cocaine.
Though the man had no drugs on him, the wife concealed 3.350kg in almost every part of her body. She had some on her breast and underwear. The innocent six years old twins were also used in packing 700 grammes of the illicit drugs.

The buds on Don Christen's three marijuana plants were thick and bristling, ready for picking.

"These branches are so heavy, they're falling down," he said, lifting one to show its weight. "I should be able to take all that's ready, but it would be half a pound. What am I going to do? I have a big problem here."

Christen, of Madison, has been a medical marijuana patient for nearly two years, and he believes the medical marijuana bill currently making its way through the Legislature is not workable.

Thousands of marijuana proponents, many of them openly smoking, crowded the University of Michigan’s Diag plaza today for the 39th Annual Hash Bash, which was scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. today.

Organizers said that a decade ago a record 10,000 people attended the event, and they had hoped for at least that much this year. Police said 5,000 showed up for today’s gathering. However, this is a resurgence from the more than 250 or so who attended a few years ago, when it started snowing just as the event began at noon, U of M Department of Public Safety Spokeswoman Diane Brown said.
